The 2003 Silver Circle Honors Dinner was held on Friday, June 20th, at the Hilton Chicago. To see photos from the event, go to

This year there were some very exciting and well-deserved awards presented to:
- Ruben Cruz, one of the first Hispanics in Chicago television
- Bill Heitz, the late television producer, director, and writer
- Robert Lewandowski, producer and personality of the first Polish language showoutside of Poland
- Bob Petty, former reporter with Channel 7, Chicago
- Jim Ruddle, former correspondent and anchor/reporter for Channel 5, Chicago
- Ron Weiner, television director who put his mark on the "Phil Donahue Show," "Jenny Jones," "The Joan Rivers Show" and "Regis and Kathy Live."
Pioneer Awards were given to:
- Fran Harris-Tuchman
- Jean Minetz-Downie
These two grand ladies both began their television careers in 1942 working for the Women's Auxiliary Television Technical Staff (WATTS) in World War II Chicago. Fran left WATTS and became the first person to interview Gloria Swanson for TV. Jean left the WATTS program, went into television advertising and created spots for "The Dave Garroway Show," "The Today Show," and "The Tonight Show."
