The Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the TV Academy is establishing a new scholarship in your honor. The Members' Scholarship will come from your donations. We're off to a great start: the opening of Ann and Maria Ponce's gallery show, ON TV/OFF TV, brought us $1000. We need $4000 for a scholarship grant, so we're well on our way, thanks to the generosity of the Ponces, the Packer Schopf Gallery, and our members who came to the event.
We give student scholarships because it’s who we are. The
Television Academy is here to recognize, encourage, and support
excellence in television and new media throughout our chapter. We
recognize our working members with our Emmy Awards. Our mentors,
teachers, and pioneers are inducted into the Silver Circle; and we give
scholarships to support and encourage the best students coming into our
industry. We are always looking for excellence, from the beginning of
your careers through 25 years of work and beyond.
We suggest a $20.00 donation to our scholarship fund-- but please
give as much as you can! All donations for the
Member scholarship go towards the NATAS Chicago Foundation. The
Foundation has 501(c)(3) Tax status and donations are tax deductible. A
donation now will look good on your tax form in April! The Foundation
will collect donations and when the amount grows to $4,000, a
scholarship will be awarded.
If you are interested in contributing to the member scholarship
fund, please write a check to the NATAS Chicago Foundation and mail it
