WBKB Engineer Charles Coleman Dies
Charles Coleman died on July 13, 2005.

Coleman was an engineer at WBKB and later worked for Ampex. He was considered an innovator in the quality of video tape recording equipment.

 
Long-Time Chicago Broadcaster Bill Frink Dies

Bill Frink, WLS-TV sportscaster and long-time member of the Eyewitness News team, which included Fahey Flynn, Joel Daly and John Coleman, has died.

Frink had a career in radio and television broadcasting with ABC and WGN in Chicago for more than 20 years.

NBC5 News VP Frank Whittaker: "Just wanted you all to know that Ray Ramirez will be undergoing treatment for lung cancer. Doctors have discovered a tumor in his lung. The good news is doctors have told Ray that it is highly treatable. Ray's treatments will begin on Wednesday at Edward Hospital in Naperville.

Legacy: Proud papa and veteran WMAQ-TV cameraman Pete Ranger has a multi-talented son, Damon, who is a gifted shooter, editor and lead singer of BLACKBOX, a hot new band set to open for Megadeth during their August appearance in Milwaukee. The band is currently recording with Doug McBride, of Gravity Studios, who has produced for the Goo-Goo Dolls and Smashing Pumpkins.

Get Well: Fox 32 producer and author Roy Santoro says he is at home convalescing but will rejoin his co-workers soon.

Condolences to the families of our friends and fellow coworkers: Bill Bell, David Gay, Richy Victor, Marv Balousek, Ralph Aulwurm and Phil Doty all passed away in the last month.
