WISN nominated for National Emmy

Congrats to WISN 12 in Milwaukee for being nominated for a National Emmy Award for the News and Documentary Emmy Awards.

Last November, WISN 12 received an Chicago/Midwest Emmy for “Spot Coverage & Breaking News,” for “Spring Washout” from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.  The regional honor qualified WISN 12 for the national competition.

Frank A. Kolar, age 92, passed away March 4, 2010. Colonel USAFR Ret., WWII B-17 navigator/ bombardier. Longtime NBC broadcast engineer having worked on shows such as; Kukla, Fran and Ollie and The Nat King Cole Show. Beloved husband of the late Mildred, nee Pokorny; loving father of Michael and the late James Kolar; dear brother of the late Mary (the late Irving) Friedman, William (Bette) and Betty (Arthur) Gorman. Visitation Monday, 2 to 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., Forest Park. Funeral Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Info: 708-442-8500.
