New Education Initiative - National Student Television

The TV Academy created the National Student Television program and the Student Award of Excellence to honor outstanding television journalism by high school students in 2003. 

National Student Television is a program that promotes, encourages and supports journalistic skills among students. It is designed to expose young journalism enthusiasts to the substantive and ethical aspects of television news. Students from around the country will be recognized for merit in television journalism through the bestowing of the Student Award of Excellence, to be done annually in June. (requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

The deadline for the Student Awards of Excellence for 2008 is February 22, 2008. 

        * Period of Eligibility: February 1, 2007- January 31,2008 

        * National Ceremony - Spring 2008

The National Television Academy invites all high school students nationwide to submit examples of your best work in television broadcast, cablecast and webcast production.

Award categories include News, Arts & Entertainment/Documentary, Public Affairs/Community Service/Public Service, Sports, Technical Achievement, and Writing.
