ART OF THE PITCH
What does it take to sell your TV concept in Hollywood?
John Davies, the creator and original producer of WTTW’s long-running
hit Wild Chicago, headed for Los Angeles more than a dozen years ago,
determined to bring his television program ideas to the small screen.
Since then, he has produced or executive produced numerous series and
specials in a variety of genres for network and cable, including last
year’s summer series The Rerun Show for NBC, and the current MTV
hip-hop reality series Run’s House (executive produced with Russell
Simmons and Sean “Diddy” Combs).
John will tell some war stories, give tips on how to successfully make
“the pitch”, and provide a first-hand account of how a Chicago producer
learned to earn a living in Hollywood.
