With the 2007-2008 Emmy nominations announced, the 50th Annual Emmy Awards
are just around the corner. This year’s ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, October
18th at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place and will be a return to the traditional
dinner event of yesteryear with some extras, special guest appearances and a
few new twists and surprises. The event will be held in the REGENCY BALLROOM.
The 5-6 p.m. cocktail hour will feature an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and
TV monitors showing off videos of Chicago TV station history-making news
and programming. A 4-course dinner will follow cocktails and present
attendees the opportunity to choose one of four wonderful entrée options:
Grilled Filet Mignon with Shallot Demi Glace, Pan Seared Chicken Breast Stuffed
with Apple Fennel, Grilled Salmon with Honey Bourbon Sauce, or the
vegetarian option of Grilled Vegetable and Goat Cheese Strudel with
Fire-Roasted Pepper Sauce. Wine will be served with the meal, a choice of red or white.
Following the coffee and dessert service, the Emmy ceremony will begin at 7:30.
Along with the excitement of announcing this year’s winning entries, the evening
promises to be a wonderful homage to Chicago television icons and a look at Emmy
moments from the past decades. There will be live music during the show,
heart-warming acceptance speeches and enough surprises to delight
everyone in the ballroom on this special night.
After the ceremony, the “Late Night Band” will help everyone dance the
night away and the open bar will re-open after the awards.
The Chicago/Midwest Chapter only turns 50 once, so the 50th
Committee has been working to make this evening one to remember.
We hope you’ll join us October 18!
