Museum of Science and Industry
57th Street and Lake Shore Drive
Chicago, IL 60637

Narrated by Gene Wilder, EXPO - Magic of the White City brings the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair, known as “The World’s Columbian Exposition,” to life. Filmed in High Definition, this new DVD documentary was shot in Chicago and Pittsburgh, the two cities that contributed most to the event.

The Chicago World’s Fair is known to have inspired Henry Ford, Walt Disney and Frank Lloyd Wright. It is also where the Ferris Wheel and Cracker Jack® were introduced. Dubbed “The White City” by the press, the Exposition was sanctioned by Congress to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Columbus discovering America in 1492. It was built to rival and exceed the Paris World’s Fair of 1889, where the Eiffel Tower debuted.

EXPO - Magic of the White City is rated PG for thematic elements, including some violent images and nudity. EXPO - Magic of the White City will be available at local and national retail outlets on September 13 and has a running time of 116 minutes.

EXPO - Magic of the White City Producer/Director Mark Bussler will be personally present to talk about the film and answer questions from the audience after the screening.
