"Deep Water"

Deep Water recounts the true story of Donald Crowhurst, one of the nine yachtsmen who joined a 1969 London Times-sponsored competition to make a highly publicized solo trip around the world. Crowhurst, a former engineer, but hardly the most experienced sailor, attempted this feat in a boat that he designed himself. A few weeks into the voyage it began leaking. Continuing through the vicious waters of Cape Horn appeared to be suicidal, but returning home meant humiliation and financial ruin.

"Into the Wild"

Please join us for a Q&A with Into the Wild star Emile Hirsch (Alpha Dog, Lords of Dogtown) immediately following the screening in the theater auditorium.

Directed by Sean Penn, Into the Wild is based on the true story of one young man's tragic "return to nature." After graduating from Emory University in 1992, top student and athlete Christopher McCandless (Emile Hirsch) abandoned his possessions, gave his entire $24,000 savings account to charity and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness. Along the way, Christopher encounters a series of characters that shape his life.

Into the Wild also starts Marcia Gay Harden, William Hurt, Hal Holbrook, and Catherine Keener.
